How to check on my approved Singapore PR application status?
You must log in to ICA’s official website with your Singpass. The portal will show the approval online.
ICA will also mail the in-principal approval letter to your registered residential address.
What is a Re-Entry Permit?
A valid re-entry permit (REP) allows a Singapore permanent resident to retain their PR status when travelling out of Singapore. The REP can last up to five years.
A Singapore PR will risk losing his PR status when:
- He leaves Singapore with an expired REP.
- He is still overseas with an expired REP.
Singapore PRs need to ensure that their REP is valid before going abroad. It is always advisable to respond to ICA’s letter.

What if I am overseas when ICA mailed my IPA letter?
You need to submit a request for a deadline extension to the ICA.
It is not uncommon to hear such instances. The ICA will approve if you submit the request promptly, explaining why you need to extend the deadline.
We must emphasise that once the IPA letter expires and you have not completed the necessary actions, ICA may revoke their approval. In short, the PR formalities are deemed incomplete, and your Singapore PR status will not be valid anymore.
